MOORESTOWN SOFTBALL'S  OPENING DAY

 

SUNDAY APRIL 19, 2015 NOON TO 3:15 P.M.

JEFF YOUNG FIELD, NEW ALBANY ROAD

 

OUR SECOND ANNUAL OPENING DAY SKILLS COMPETITION

MYSA and the Moorestown High School's Girls Softball Teams will again hold a softball skills competition during MYSA's Opening Day Events.  All events will be held at the Jeff Young softball fields on New Albany & Lenola Roads.   In addition to the great team and individual events presented last year we have added a competition for the third and fourth grade pitchers.   Prizes will be awarded to each grade level winner(s) during the opening day festivities and pictures will be posted on MYSA's website.  To participate, players just be at the field as follows: 

Field #2 (by hockey rink):  K-12:30pm; First-1 pm; Second-2 pm

Field #1 (by street):  Third-1 pm; Fourth-1 pm; Pitchers-2:30 pm

2014 MYSA Scholarship Winners

The Moorestown Youth Softball Association awards two seniors a 2014 Scholarship

 

Two $ 600 scholarships were awarded to:

Alexa Massa - Alexa won this year’s scholarship for “Leadership”.  She volunteered for many years as a helper at countless MYSA’s clinics and tryouts.  During her four years at Moorestown High School, Alexa earned four Varsity letters and in 2013 was awarded BCSL Second Team All-Conference as a catcher.  Next year, Alexa will be attending Stockton University where she will play field hockey.

 

Audrey Weller – Audrey won this year’s scholarship for “Spirit”.  Her list of honors include: Moorestown High School Varsity letters 4 years, 2011–2012 Team MVP, 2011-2012 Team Most Outstanding Player, 2013 Team Most Dedicated Player, 2012-2013 BCSL All-Star and 2012-2013 BCSL First Team All-Conference Pitcher. Next year, Audrey will continue her softball career at Emory University w here she will major in Business and Pre-Law.      

 

On behalf of the entire MYSA organization we would like to congratulate Alexa and Audrey girls on their accomplishments in the game of softball.  Their conduct both on and off the field as student-athletes is exemplary and we wish them continued success.
